SDCWA – Wister Sport Fishery

The Wister Sport Fishery Mitigation Project will establish a 50-acre sport fishing pond within the Wister Unit of the Imperial Wildlife Area in the Imperial County. The fish pond will also provide additional habitat for migratory birds navigating the Pacific Flyway and other wildlife species. The creation of the fish pond allows the Water Authority to meet a California Department of Fish & Game environmental mitigation requirement for the lining of the All-American and Coachella Canals.
