This groundbreaking facility was developed to receive silicon ingots and process them into wafers used in semiconductor manufacturing. The wafers produced here are critical for the solar energy industry, serving as a foundational component for high-performance solar cells.

With an unprecedented scale, the Hemlock Semiconductor Project is regarded as one of the largest plants of its kind ever built. While a pilot plant was previously developed in Vietnam, this Michigan facility represents a global benchmark in semiconductor and solar manufacturing infrastructure.
