Job Overview
HSE Contractors is seeking skilled Electrical Inspector Engineers in New York for flexible staffing needs. We are hiring for full-time, part-time, and freelance/contract roles to support ongoing construction projects. The ideal candidate will perform field inspections, ensure code compliance, and maintain high-quality standards across all electrical installations.
Responsibilities

Conduct daily inspections of electrical installations, equipment, and materials.

Verify compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and New York local codes.

Inspect conduits, wiring systems, panels, switchgear, lighting, grounding, and distribution systems.

Review contractor workmanship and identify deficiencies.

Validate electrical test results (megger, continuity, grounding, etc.).

Maintain accurate daily logs, inspection reports, and punch lists.

Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project managers.

Support commissioning and energization activities.

Uphold site safety standards and OSHA compliance.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering OR equivalent field experience.

3–10+ years of electrical inspection or field engineering experience.

Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and New York City Electrical Code.

Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and single-line diagrams.

Experience working on commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or public projects.

Excellent communication and reporting skills.

Preferred certifications: PE, EIT, NICET, OSHA 30, or similar.
