Site Safety Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Planning and Implementation:
    • Develop and implement site-specific safety plans in compliance with OSHA regulations and local safety laws.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Training and Development:
    • Organize and lead training sessions for workers on safe construction practices, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency response procedures.
    • Conduct toolbox talks to reinforce safety practices and communicate project objectives.
  • Incident Management:
    • Investigate accidents, incidents, and unsafe conditions; document findings and implement corrective actions.
    • Maintain accurate records of all safety-related activities, including incident reports and training logs.
  • Compliance Monitoring:
    • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with applicable regulations, codes, and company policies.
    • Collaborate with project teams to review and update monthly site-specific safety plans.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters on the job site.
    • Liaise with subcontractors to ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety management or a related field.
    • Proven track record of managing health and safety programs on commercial or civil construction projects.
  • Certifications:
    • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification.
    • CPR/First Aid Certification.
    • Additional certifications such as HAZWOPER or CHST are a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, local safety laws, and industry best practices.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite; experience with safety management software is an advantage.
