Key Responsibilities:
#1.Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and manage project schedules using tools like Primavera P6.
- Analyze project documents including BOQs, drawings, and contracts to establish project scope and objectives.
- Prepare periodic reports and tracking sheets to monitor project progress against the baseline schedule.
#2.Cost Control:
- Implement cost control measures by preparing detailed cost breakdowns and estimates.
- Monitor budgets, track expenditures, and prepare actual cost reports to assess project financial health.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies between planned and actual costs.
#3.Monitoring and Reporting:
- Measure project progress through established metrics and prepare regular status reports for stakeholders.
- Facilitate weekly and monthly progress meetings to discuss project status and address any issues.
- Assist in risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies to manage potential delays or budget overruns.
#4.Collaboration:
- Interface with project management teams, contractors, and clients to ensure alignment on project goals.
- Coordinate with procurement departments to ensure timely acquisition of materials and services.
- Provide guidance on contract compliance and assist in the evaluation of change orders or claims.
Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is typically required.
- Experience: A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in project controls, cost control, or planning within the engineering or construction sectors is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6), strong MS Excel skills for data analysis, and familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles are essential.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment are crucial for success.
